WHAT GLENN COUNTY FARM SUPPLY NEEDED
Colusa/Glenn County Farm Supply Inc. is a full-service independent retail business in Williams, CA. GCFS has enjoyed agriculture growth over the past decade, with most of that growth expanding past its capabilities of fully servicing its customer base from one location.
GCFS was looking to expand its retail presence in adjacent Glenn County and purchased an old seed-cleaning facility that had rail access. GCFS had a vison of creating an-other full-service crop protection and dry fertilizer storage facility with the ability to store large volumes of bulk fertilizer with blending capability, along with utilizing the rail service with a 2,700-foot rail spur.
“That’s when we started contacting the experts at building dry fertilizer storage facilities. We found that Stueve was the industry leader in constructing and engineering high-quality and large storage facilities. Their in-house engineering team helped with the permitting process, and their construction crews worked in a very professional and timely manner,” General Manager Terry Talbot says. With this investment, GCFS was able to meet the demands of its customers and diversified crops in Northern California.
