Legacy Cooperative has enhanced its fertilizer operations with a new, state-of-the-art fertilizer blending facility in Egeland, North Dakota, built by Stueve Construction. Designed to improve efficiency and meet the growing demands of local farmers, the facility features a high-capacity receiving system, increased storage and cutting-edge blending technology.
At the core of this expansion is a 300-ton GSI blend tower that is equipped with eight overhead commodity storage bins, including three major product bins and five micronutrient bins. This setup enables precise nutrient customization to maximize crop yields.
“This expansion underscores our commitment to providing high-quality dry fertilizer solutions while improving operational efficiency,” said Sean Slowinski, Legacy Cooperative CEO. “With increased storage capacity, faster loadout times and advanced blending capabilities, we’re better equipped than ever to serve our growers.”
With a receiving system capable of handling 800 tons per hour via truck and future rail, the facility is built to streamline logistics and improve product availability. The dual 18-ton vertical blenders, constructed with durable stainless steel and powered by high-efficiency motors, allow for the production of 300 to 400 tons of blended and impregnated fertilizer per hour.
Additional features include an 18-ton stainless steel weight hopper, electric telescoping loadout spouts for enhanced accuracy and a structural steel support system designed for durability and ease of access.
