What They Needed
Keystone Cooperative was established in 2024, but predecessor coop such as Co-Alliance and Ceres Solutions began operating much earlier. The new retail blending and wholesale terminal facility in Mt Summit / New Castle. In, will service the eastern side of Indiana, and the retail locations, keeping them full of fertilizer. The new land purchase and rail siding with the capacity to hold 30 rail cars with meet the coops needs. What We Designed
Stueve constructed a new 26,000 ton dry-fertilizer building with a new rail spur to handle the facility’s increased needs for dry fertilizer demands. Stueve lead the project to completion and and expects to add more storage in the future.
The Results
The largest bin size is 12,090 tons, with the smallest micro bins at 100 tons each. Keystone can store up to 5 different major products and is able to inject or impregnate the dry fertilizer with several additives, like a nitrogen stabilizer.
Fast speeds with receiving and loading make the plant easy to operate with only 2 people.
